Personal Statement: Hirbod Assa is an entrepreneur and academics in the risk management and insurtech sector, a co-founder of Edge Technologies, and the director of the risk consultancy Modelibrary. With a Ph.D. in financial mathematics from the University of Montreal and a subsequent Ph.D. in economics from Concordia University, Hirbod has built a career at the intersection of academia and industry. Previously serving as a reader in actuarial and data science at Essex University's SMSAS and as a senior lecturer in finance and fintech at Kent Business School, he also spent seven years at IFAM at the University of Liverpool.
